Telescopes spy a Monster Radio -Jet streaming from a light and early object in the universe

Cape Canaveral, Fla. (AP) -Telescopes around the world have discovered a Monster Radio -Jet streaming from a quasar that starts from the first 1 billion years of the universe.

This jet of the radio waves is the largest with double width of our Milky Ways galaxy that was ever discovered in the history of the universe, as astronomers reported on Thursday.

Such radio jets are not unusual in our cosmic neighborhood. But so far they were difficult to grasp in the distant early universe because they were left over the hidden cosmic microwave background of the big bang.

“Just because this object is so extreme that we can watch it from the earth, even though it is really far away,” said the leading author Anniek Gloudemans from the National Science Foundation in a statement.

Observatorios across Europe and Hawaii and Texas contributed to the study that appeared in the Astrophysical Journal Letters.

The double -sided radio wave is estimated at at least 200,000 light years. A light year is 5.8 trillion miles.

The Quasar, who operated this jet a few years ago, was only 9% of its current age – within the first 1.2 billion years. Some of the brightest objects in the universe, quasare are galactic kernels with gas and dust that fall into a black hole and release an enormous amount of energy that makes it extremely bright.

The mass of this quasar corresponds to the 450 million times of our sun with a black hole that is not particularly solid.
